Thank you to everyone who came out to Thursday’s Full Indie Meetup!

It was held at Ceili’s Irish Pub and Restaurant on 670 Smithe Street Downtown Vancouver so a big thank you to our venue.

You can check out a gallery of the event at http://www.fullindie-2.dreamhosters.com/2011/09/30/september-meetup-pictures/

Our first speech “Indie Games are Special” was by Kayla Kinnunen, a professional game developer with over 11 years of experience in a variety of roles. In her words, she likes to explore how games can be used as an accessible medium for individual creative expression.

She was followed by Nick Yonge and his presentation on “Officially Going Indie”. Nick is the founder of krangGAMES Incorporated and is a full-time indie developer, and recently his game “Prior” which was voted no. 4 in a recent Ludum Dare competition.

Finally Jason Elliott rounded off the evening with “Part Time Partners” and talking about his most recent project. With 15 years of experience, most notably at Konami and Radical Entertainment, and 7 years experience as Game Art and Design faculty at the Art Institute, Jason brings a wealth of knowledge and industry insight to the group.

Thank you to everyone who came out and spent some time with the group, and make sure you sign up at http://www.meetup.com/Vancouver-Indie-Game-Developers/ when the next meetup is announced!
